Tremend is looking for a Moodle Developer to join our team of bright thinkers and doers. You’ll use your problem-solving creativity to figure out our client’s most complex and challenging problems across different industries. Your Impact:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, instructional designers, and UX/UI teams to gather and refine requirements for Moodle-based e-learning solutions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups, ensuring development aligns with business and educational goals
- Develop and customize Moodle plugins and themes following Moodle development guidelines
- Configure Moodle core functionalities, including courses, roles, competencies, quizzes, and grading systems
- Implement third-party API integrations (e.g., payment gateways, authentication systems, and external content providers)
- Develop custom reports and dashboards to provide insights into learning engagement and user progress
- Optimize Moodle performance, implementing caching, database indexing, and load balancing strategies
- Write and execute unit, functional, and integration tests to ensure the stability and security of Moodle implementations
- Conduct peer code reviews to enforce best practices, security, and performance standards
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for automated Moodle deployments
- Deploy Moodle instances using Docker for scalable cloud-based solutions
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in production Moodle environments
- Stay up to date with Moodle core and plugin updates, applying necessary patches and security fixes.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Experience developing web solutions with PHP, especially Moodle implementations
- Strong knowledge of Moodle architecture, APIs, and plugin development (mandatory)
- Experience configuring and managing Moodle roles, permissions, and learning workflows
- Experience integrating Moodle with third-party services (e.g., LTI, SCORM, xAPI, SSO)
- Strong experience in MySQL database optimization for Moodle
- Experience building responsive Moodle themes using HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript, and Bootstrap
- Experience working with Moodle REST API and other web services
- Experience with Docker and cloud deployments in AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in Agile environments
- Experience in consulting clients on Moodle builds and best practices
- Fluency in English.
